High Level Visit
Mrs Hilary Clinton, the US Secretary, has visited Egypt in the most high official visit in the country since the fall of Hosni Mubarak. The US Secretary has had a conversation with the Military Council and the Prime Minister of the country regarding the establishment of democracy in the country and evaluating the relationships between the US and Egypt.
Undoubtedly, this process can be understood as an event aiming to strengthen the positions of US in the Middle East. Obama knows that with the rebellions all over the Arab world, he needs to find new allies as old governments continue to suffer from public unsatisfaction and protests. Egypt has been hit by the protests and even the secondary teaching jobs in the country were in a situation of no demand. However, after the resignation of its president, Egypt looks more promising than ever.
Speculative statements have appeared on the web regarding the position of the US and its aims for sending the secretary in Egypt. Some suggest that the country is seeking an ally that would support Israel in their fight over the Gaza strip. This, however, is not clear and confirmed and remains a pure conspiracy theory.
Nevertheless, the US is in search of something if it is sending such a high class diplomat. The relations between Egypt the US need to remain calm and well sustained by political discussion. Whatever the requirements for Egypt, they seem to be willing to comply and open up for american influence that is so necessary to the Obama cabinet.
